REPLACEMENT BULB GUIDE

Balsam Hill™ offers a wide variety of bulb options for our Christmas trees and decorative foliage. This guide aims to help you find the right replacement bulbs for your existing product.

BULB REPLACEMENT BEST PRACTICES

While a single burnt out bulb may not cause an entire strand to go out immediately, it can, over time, significantly decrease the life of the strand. To prevent this, we recommend the prompt replacement of burnt out or damaged bulbs. Bulb replacement is easy to do with the bulb remover tool and extra bulbs included with your pre-lit Balsam Hill Christmas tree.

LIGHT TYPES

INCANDESCENT: CLEAR, MULTI, AND COLOUR +CLEAR™

Incandescent lights are traditional lights that emit a soft, warm glow and are found on many Balsam Hill trees. Standard incandescent bulbs come with green or white bases depending on the tree model, and can be replaced at the bulb and strand level.

Clear incandescent emit a soft, clear glow.
Multi incandescent feature red, green, blue, and yellow bulbs.
Incandescent Colour+Clear Balsam Hill trees have both Clear and Multi bulbs on separate strands. These Clear and Multi bulbs are not colour-changing.

REGULAR: CLEAR AND MULTI

Regular bulbs are traditional lights found on Balsam Hill wreaths, garlands, and some potted trees. Regular bulbs come with green bases, and can be replaced at the bulb and strand level.

Clear emit a soft, clear glow.
Multi feature red, green, blue, and yellow bulbs.

LED: CANDLELIGHT™ CLEAR LED, MULTI LED, AND COLOUR+CLEAR™ LED

LED bulbs consume considerably less electricity and have a longer operational life than incandescent bulbs. LED bulbs come with green and white bases, and can be replaced at the bulb and strand level.

Candlelight LED produce a soft, warm white glow similar to that of incandescent bulbs.
Multi LED feature blue, green, orange, red, and yellow bulbs.
Colour+Clear LED trees have both Clear and Multi bulbs, with a feature to have Clear, Multi, or a combination of Clear and Multi on at anytime.

Note: There are 2 types of Colour + Clear LED bulbs. Please verify below which of the two types you have for any Customer Service needs.

FAIRY LED

Fairy LED Lights feature small, clear LED bulbs affixed on thin yet durable wiring and produce a distinct, charming glow. Fairy Lights cannot be replaced at the bulb level.

MICRO LED

Micro LED lights are small, cylindrical LED lights that emit a clear glow. Micro LED lights cannot be replaced at the bulb level.

ULTRABRIGHT LED

Ultrabright LED lights are the same small, cylindrical LED lights that emit a clear glow as the Micro LED lights, but contain a higher light count per tree. Ultrabright LED lights cannot be replaced at the bulb level.

FIBER OPTICS LED LIGHT SHOW

Fiber Optics LED lights are groups of small fibers that contain LED lights in them. Our Fiber Optics LED lights come with 23 different light show options. Fiber Optic LED lights are not replaceable at a bulb level.

TWINKLY LED LIGHT SHOW

Twinkly LED lights are small, cylindrical LED lights that may be controlled by a smart device app called Twinkly. You can map out colours to bulbs, select preset light shows, and adjust the speed and colour of any light setting through the Twinkly app. Twinkly LED lights are not replaceable at a bulb level.

Replacement bulbs are specifically designed for Balsam Hill Trees and we cannot guarantee compatibility with other brand light strands or products.
